Booking Arrival & Departure

Is there any flexibility on the arrival day during August?

August is the only month where we specify a stay of 7 nights, and changeover day is Friday, so I’m afraid we cannot offer flexibility on this. For the rest of the year, there are no restrictions (minimum stay 3 nights).

Can I have an earlier check in or a later departure?

Generally no, but it is always worth contacting us to check if it could be arranged.

What happens if I cancel a booking?

Full details on cancelations are in your terms and conditions. Please contact us if you meed more detail.

Is there a surcharge for paying by credit card?

Although the credit card company charge us, we have decided not to pass this charge on. So consequently, our preferred payment method is by BANK TRANSFER or debit card. You can always pay by cheque.

Is the price of my booking fixed?


Do you offer holiday insurance?


Would I receive a discount if I book well in advance or if I wait until the last minute?

No, the prices shown on the website are fixed.

Number of guests and visitors

Why is it neccessary for you to know the composition of my group?

Aside from being an insurance and health and safety reqirement that we know who is staying in the property in the instance of a fire, we do like to have an idea of the breakdown of your group.

Why do you not take stag or hen groups?

The accommodation is designed for families. However, if you are a group wanting a quiet venue for say, a pampering weekend then The Bluff would be available to you.

Am I permitted to have guests visit me at the property?

Yes, but only those stated on your booking form are able to sleep at the property.

What is/is not provided?

What is provided in the welcome pack?

Tea / coffee, sugar, milk; salt & pepper, stock cubes and cooking oil.

Do you provide towels?

Yes. We provide a selection of towels for each guest. A hand towel and bathmat is also provided for each bathroom. We do NOT supply beach towels.

Do you provide bedlinen?


Do you provide toilet roll?
Yes, we do provide toilet rolls, but we do not restock during your stay, so you may need to get some more.
Do you provide shampoo, hand wash etc?

We provide rosemary and bergamot hand wash, shower gel and lotion from St Kitts Herbert  Also we provide Dove cream wash and shower caps. We do not provide shampoo, conditioner or toothpaste.

What do I need to bring?

Beach towels, washing detergent, groceries.

(Hairdryers, ironing board and iron are provided.)

Will there be wifi at the property?


Do you have washing facilities?

Yes. There is a washing machine and an outside clothesline; pegs provided but  washing detergent is not.

What kitchen facilities do you have?

There is a double oven, hob, fridge, freezer and dishwasher. The ample storage cupboards contain all the cooking equipment you will need, including tinfoil, kitchen roll, dishcloths, washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets are provided.

There is a large black ash dining table, which can be extended to seat up to 14, and sufficient crockery, cutlery and glassware is provided for this number.

What outside facilities do you have?

The house is set in 8 acres of cliffland/ fields. Ideal for flying kites, playing ball games, or just running around and rolling down hills! Just outside is a patio area. Some sun chairs are provided. We have several outdoor games for your use. A barbecue is available on request. There is an outdoor washing line. The property lies on the coast path, affording a quick walk down to the beach at Trebarwith Strand, or beautiful walks along the cliffs.

Can we use the library?

The library is usually only available if you have booked the extra bedrooms upstairs. There is a wide variety of reading material and many games and puzzles in the downstairs flat. If you contact us in advance we can arrange for you to use the library, even if you are only occupying the downstairs flat.

Is there somewhere to rinse wetsuits?
Yes, we have an outside hose for this.


Is there private parking?
Yes. We have our own car park. If booking the 2 bedroom apartment 2 spaces are allocated. If you book extra rooms, parking is available for up to 3 extra cars, making a maximum of 5 cars.


Do you take dogs?

No, I’m sorry, but we do not take any pets. The only exception would be for a working dog providing specific support e.g. guide dogs.
